Opportunity Overview:
This is a remote-first role that may require travel to Boston, MA for new hire onboarding and occasional in-person team meetings and company events.
The Lead Technical Program Manager, Implementations is responsible for serving as a scrum master for a cross functional implementation team; software implementations are planned and managed through delivery and go-live.
This is an internal-facing role supporting Cohere's Product, Design, Data, & Engineering Department including the product, engineering, and technical services teams. The Program Manager owns the internal coordination required to manage, schedule, scope the technical build timeline for 2–3 concurrent customer implementations — serving those teams by creating, implementing, and managing shared processes that result in:
-
Fewer handoffs and cross-team abrasion
-
Improved efficiency and reduced risk/errors
-
Better, faster, higher-quality customer implementations
-
Clear insight into project status, milestones, and cross-team dependencies
-
Reduced burden on functional team managers to understand the details/timeline of individual implementation projects
What you’ll do:
-
Own the Jira-based delivery schedule, scope, technical build details and timeline for each client implementation
-
Use agile methodology to deliver on 2–3 concurrent implementations; coordinate day-to-day activities across engineers, solution architects, FDEs, QA , and analysts
-
Run daily standups to surface blockers, dependencies, and timeline risks; define and manage a system for tracking risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies
-
Ensure issues are managed and resolved quickly
-
Define repeatable dev and operational task patterns for client implementations; maintain process documentation in Confluence
-
Ensure Implementation Managers have clear insight into timelines and any issues that require client support
Additionally, the Program Manager will partner with product and engineering management on projects based on skills, experience, and interest — such as sprint/engineering metrics reporting, bug management, dashboards, release notes process improvements, and Jira workflow standardization.
What you’ll need:
-
4+ years as a product or program manager or project manager in software, with experience managing implementations or product launches and coordinating cross-functional delivery across product, engineering, and client-facing teams
-
Jira and agile expertise; able to apply tooling and recommend plugins to create a clear source of truth for status, risks, and blockers
-
Healthcare, health-tech, or complex B2B SaaS implementation background
-
Comfortable reading engineering scope, design, and estimates to sequence work and manage timelines
-
Strong communicator who simplifies complexity for technical and non-technical audiences; strong organizational skills managing multiple concurrent workstreams
-
Experience with health plans and utilization management, is a plus
-
Jira Project Administrator, Jellyfish, or Monday.com experience, is a plus
-
Experience using AI automation/Claude for repeatable technical setup tasks (e.g., SFTP, SSO coordination), is a plus
Pay & Perks:
💻 Fully remote opportunity with about 5% travel
🩺 Medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and Employee Assistance Program
📈 401K retirement plan with company match; flexible spending and health savings account
🏝️ Flex Time Off + company holidays
👶 Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave
🐶 Pet insurance
The salary range for this position is $116,000 to $125,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
