The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Support environmental compliance program, including data collection, recordkeeping, testing and reporting for chemical and film manufacturing.

  • Lead projects to ensure environmental compliance for the site, comprising a chemical plant, film manufacturing plant and WWT operations.

  • Implement management systems, programs and processes to ensure durable compliance with local, state, federal and company standards. Develop and implement training programs to support compliance.

  • Determine opportunities for environmental program improvements and develop strategic plans for improvement. Work with appropriate stakeholders to implement changes and track to completion.

  • Support site by collaborating with engineers and leaders to ensure compliance requirements are incorporated into, and followed by operations, maintenance, and contractors.

  • Support corporate initiatives to create, improve or implement programs driving environmental performance.

  • Be on call for live support of emergency response events

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of environmental compliance and reporting experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Five (5) years of working knowledge of federal and/or state environmental regulations, e.g., RCRA, CWA, CAA, and/or TSCA

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Seven (7) years of environmental compliance experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with environmental regulatory reporting
  • Experience with other EHS compliance programs, e.g.
  • Hazardous Waste Management
  • Wastewater Permitting (general or specific permitting)
  • Storm Water Permit and Spill Control Plan preparation
  • EPCRA reporting
  • TSCA program support
  • Process Safety Management
  • Multimedia Compliance Auditing

Work location:

  • Work location: This role is a full-time on-site working model (5 days/week onsite). Decatur, AL

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international Relocation: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
