Full job description

We are unable to sponsor H-1B visas or other employment-based visas for this position at this time. Your Role As a Customer Quality Engineer (CQE), you will serve as the primary technical liaison between our manufacturing facilities and automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers. You will work directly with customers and collaborate with internal quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams to investigate concerns, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement. You will ensure that customer quality requirements and technical expectations are clearly understood, documented, communicated, and met. Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for OEM customer quality tasks, engage with customer portals, lead regular reviews presenting pertinent data.

  • Lead 8D investigations and corrective actions within the factory for customer issues using tools like 5-Why and Ishikawa diagrams or others.

  • Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and coordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions to customers.

  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans for new and existing products.

  • Monitor and report on customer-specific quality metrics, including Parts Per Million (PPM) defects and operational disruptions.

  • Support the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure that the highest quality products possible are delivered to customers.

  • Author and execute CARs/SCARs as required to resolve internal/external quality issues

  • Statistically analyze data using Excel, Minitab or similar to generate reports on quality issues and review with internal engineering and manufacturing teams.

  • Create working documents for quality tasks and train the quality & manufacturing team.

  • Be a key leader in the implementation and maintenance of IATF 16949 into our QMS.

  • Participate in various special projects that support the quality, manufacturing and engineering teams.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive quality engineering or a Tier-1 supplier environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)

  • Detailed understanding of IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 quality management systems.

  • Experience navigating OEM customer portals.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 *Base salary only. Salary dependent on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience and location. **Addition compensation may include equity, bonuses, stipends, medical, dental, vision, 401-k, and long-term disability insurance.
