Description
The Ultrasound Assistant will support medical sonographers, echocardiographers, radiologists, and other imaging professionals by facilitating efficient workflow, patient preparation, and departmental organization. This position is key to ensuring a smooth and safe imaging environment by providing both clerical and clinical support in the ultrasound department. This position cares for all ages of patients from newborn through geriatric populations; as well as inpatient, emergency, and outpatient settings. The employee must be able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Support patients throughout the ultrasound experience by greeting and preparing patients, scheduling exams, obtaining clinical history, providing clear instructions and education, assisting with mobility and positioning, maintaining privacy and comfort, and responding appropriately to patient needs or emergencies.

Support efficient ultrasound department operations by assisting sonographers and radiologists with procedures and equipment, preparing and maintaining exam rooms, managing patient flow and supplies, completing necessary documentation and image transfers, answering department calls, following infection control and regulatory standards, and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide safe, compassionate patient care.
Hours/Shifts
80 hours biweekly, day shifts, Monday to Friday.
Compensation
Hourly Wage Range: $18.18 - $23.20. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications
Required

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must have current CPR certification or must be obtained within 6 months of hire date

Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process

Must be able to attend the work site as scheduled
Preferred

Experience in a radiology, hospital, or outpatient clinical setting

Familiarity with imaging procedures
