Machine Repair Project Manager / Estimator – Grand Rapids, MI

Pay Range: $125,000 - $150,000

We are seeking an experienced Machine Repair Project Manager / Estimator to oversee estimating activities and project execution for industrial machine repair, maintenance, and installation projects. This position will be responsible for responding to requests for quotations assigned by the Operations Director, developing accurate and competitive estimates, and managing projects from award through completion. Depending on project size and complexity, this individual may independently manage smaller machine repair projects or work collaboratively with Contracts Project Management and other departments on larger, multi-trade projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project estimates

• Review RFQs and specifications

• Perform site assessments

• Develop labor calculations

• Generate material takeoffs

• Solicit vendor quotations

• Build project schedules

• Manage project budgets

• Track project progress

• Coordinate field personnel

• Communicate with customers

• Lead project kickoff meetings

• Review change orders

• Monitor project costs

• Ensure safety compliance

• Coordinate subcontractors

• Support project closeout

• Maintain project documentation

Requirements

• Valid driver's license

• No DUI/OWI in last 5 years

• No drug/alcohol driving offenses in last 5 years

• Estimating experience

• Project management experience

• Industrial maintenance background

• Machine repair knowledge

• Blueprint reading skills

• Budget management experience

• Strong communication skills

• Proficiency with estimating software

• Microsoft Office proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical contracting experience

• Industrial construction experience

• Manufacturing facility experience

• Multi-trade project experience

• PMP certification preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Work Environment

This position combines office, customer site, and industrial facility work environments. The Project Manager/Estimator will regularly visit project locations to evaluate scope, gather field information, coordinate project activities, and support successful project execution. Travel within the service area may be required depending on project needs.
