Full job description
Inside Sales Account Executive | EdTech | Remote US (TX Preferred) About the company Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed AI-powered grading and feedback platform for K-12 educators, used by teachers in schools across the US to save hours of grading time while delivering higher-quality, standards-aligned writing feedback to every student. Teachers adopt the product bottom-up, and the company has sold into schools across 30+ states. The opportunity The inbound engine is compounding, and most of your pipeline comes to you: quote requests arrive every day, teachers apply to become advocates, and schools where teachers are already using the product are waiting for someone to call. We're looking for a high-velocity closer to join the founding sales team and own the inside motion end to end: discovery, demos, proposals and closes over Zoom, plus self-sourcing a slice of your own number. You'll work directly with the CEO. Location: Remote (US, TX preferred). Type: Full-time | Inside Sales | Early-stage equity. Experience: 2–6+ years in SaaS sales, ideally K-12 EdTech or another high-velocity inside sales motion. What you'll do - Own Sales (80%)
- Work the inbound engine end-to-end: quote requests, advocate teachers, and warm usage signals, with tight speed to lead
- Run discovery and demos with teachers, principals and curriculum directors over Zoom
- Convert bottom-up adoption: turn schools with active teacher clusters into school and district deals
- Navigate school and district procurement: quotes, purchase orders, IT and privacy reviews
- Self-source part of your pipeline through outbound and referrals
- Manage pipeline, CRM, and forecasting
- Create sales assets for the inside motion: collateral, one-pagers, email sequences
What you'll do - Grow Accounts (20%)
- Own renewals: grow ACV, adjust pricing, grow to multi-year deals, cross-sell adjacent product lines
- Own internal expansion: expand school deals into district-wide contracts by identifying champions across buildings
- Own external expansion: generate referrals from happy customers, and get warm introductions from champions to open new admin relationships
- Build and maintain relationships, and deliver successful admin onboarding to drive loyalty, usage and retention
- Collaborate with the customer success team to ensure customers get adequate training and sustain healthy usage
- Be the voice of the customer: synthesize admin and teacher feedback to inform the product roadmap
Why you'll love it
- Impact: help students across the country become better writers
- Growth: the company grew 5x last year and just crossed seven figures in ARR, with most of that growth organic
- Velocity: you will close every week, not every quarter
- Ownership: shape core GTM processes as a founding team member with equity
- Learning: work directly with the founders daily
Requirements Essential
- Top-performing sales rep with a track record of exceeding targets
- 2–6+ years in SaaS sales, with EdTech and K-12 experience selling to principals or district administrators
- Thrives on volume: many conversations a day, many deals in flight, nothing dropped
- Excellent on Zoom and on the phone, and writes clearly and concisely
- Highly organized and proactive, and thrives with autonomy in an early-stage environment
- Ambitious, scrappy, driven, and comfortable selling in ambiguity
- Looking for a founding team role with equity and major career upside
Particularly valuable
- High-velocity inside sales experience: short cycles, multiple closes per month
- Former English teacher (1+ year) or school administrator (principal, AP, curriculum specialist, or Director of Curriculum)
- Experience selling to US K-12 Directors of Curriculum
- Previously worked at K-12 SaaS companies such as Nearpod, Newsela, Pear Deck, Edpuzzle, Writable, NoRedInk, Seesaw, ClassDojo, Brisk Teaching, SchoolAI, MagicSchool AI, Khanmigo, Diffit, Formative, Quizizz, or Kami
Benefits
- $100k+ OTE in Year 1
- Health insurance
- 25 days PTO
- Home office stipend
- Early-stage equity
- Team retreat days both nationally and internationally
