Manager, MRI Safety Laboratory (f/m/d)

Your Tasks
As the Manager, MRI Safety Laboratory, you will lead the strategic, operational, and technical direction of TUV SUD's MRI Safety Laboratory. This role is responsible for laboratory operations, personnel leadership, technical oversight, customer engagement, quality compliance, and business growth. You will work closely with medical device manufacturers, internal technical teams, and global TUV SUD partners to support innovative MRI safety testing solutions for medical devices and implants.
Lead the day-to-day operations of the MRI Safety Laboratory, ensuring high levels of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Manage, mentor, and develop laboratory engineers and technical personnel while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Direct laboratory resource planning, project prioritization, and capacity management to support customer commitments and business objectives.
Provide technical oversight for MRI safety testing programs, including review of test strategies, protocols, reports, and complex customer requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable ASTM, ISO, ISO/IEC 17025, and TUV SUD quality system requirements.
Lead customer-facing technical discussions, project planning activities, proposal reviews, and strategic account support.
Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to identify new opportunities and support the expansion of MRI safety services.
Develop business cases for new equipment, laboratory capabilities, and strategic investments that support future growth.
Collaborate with global TUV SUD laboratories, technical experts, MRI facilities, research organizations, and industry stakeholders to advance capabilities and share expertise.
Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and service expansion.
Your Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Medical Device Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Demonstrated experience managing technical programs, laboratory operations, or engineering teams within a regulated environment.
Strong understanding of medical device testing, quality systems, and laboratory operations.
Experience working with MRI safety testing, medical device evaluation, imaging technologies, or related technical fields.
Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and technical resources in a customer-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Medical Device Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience working with MRI safety standards, ASTM standards, ISO standards, and medical device regulatory requirements.
Experience managing ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories or similar quality-driven environments.
Experience supporting business development, customer relationship management, or technical sales activities.
Familiarity with implantable medical devices, active implantable devices, or MRI-conditional product evaluations.
Participation in industry committees, standards development organizations, technical publications, or professional societies.

Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated annual base pay range for this full-time position is $135,000 - $150,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on various factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
The compensation package may also include an annual incentive opportunity, subject to eligibility and applicable plan terms.
