This position contributes to our vision by:

 Confers with customers and vendors on conceptual configuration and initial design requirements for various new and on-going seat programs.

 Reviews design specifications and incorporates into assigned product.

 Prepares lay-outs of overall design task including structural and articulation systems.

 Defines design standards to maintain commonality with existing product line.

 Defines and sets goals as to complete tasks as expeditiously as possible.

 Prepares advanced bill of materials and long-lead item list.

 Review design package to assure conformance to latest specifications and regulations.

 Prepares drawings for release.

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree (minimum of 12 years equivalent related engineering experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree) OR

  • Must have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree.

  • plus an additional 5 years of related design experience required with Bachelors degree.

  • plus an additional 4 years of related design experience required with Masters degree.

  • Applicable experience may be acquired prior to, during, or following completion of degree.

  • Must have excellent drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) and/or Pro/Engineer.

  • Requires advanced knowledge of aircraft seat products.

  • Must have good knowledge of materials and production processes, and mechanical knowledge of parts and stress conditions.

  • Requirement have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.

  • Ability to read and review written communication.

  • Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
