The Events & Community Engagement Intern will support Sweetser's Advancement team in raising resources for mental health and recovery services. The intern will assist with event planning, donor stewardship, grant research, database updates, and daily development operations.

Working with the Director of Development and other team members, the intern will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, event coordination and planning, donor engagement, grants, and data management. The role may include occasional travel, evening, or weekend events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Help plan andstaff fundraising events, community celebrations, and awareness activities,including venues, vendors, supplies, timelines, registration, setup, andbreakdown.

  • Support donorstewardship by preparing personalized acknowledgments, recognition materials,impact updates, and follow-up records for staff review.

  • Maintain gift,donor, attendee, and volunteer information accurately; assist with basicdatabase reports and follow all privacy and confidentiality requirements.

  • Researchprospective business, civic, and community partners and sponsors.

  • Assist withvolunteer recruitment, scheduling, and communication.

  • Research grantopportunities, maintain application and reporting calendars, gather requiredmaterials, and help draft proposal or report sections for staff review.

  • Keep calendars,contact lists, and shared files current; prepare mailings and partner packetsand compile event attendance, feedback, and recap information.
