At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow. As our Rail & Transit Group Leader/ Project Manager in Chicago, you'll play a key role in growing our rail and transit practice while leading talented teams that deliver meaningful infrastructure projects across the region.

This leadership role combines team development, project delivery, client engagement, and business growth. You'll help shape the future of our Chicago rail and transit team, strengthen relationships with key clients, mentor emerging leaders, and oversee the successful delivery of projects that improve how people and goods move throughout our communities.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of rail and transit professionals.

  • Serve as a project manager and trusted advisor on complex rail and transit infrastructure projects.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with transit agencies, rail clients, and transportation stakeholders throughout the Chicago region.

  • Support business development activities, including client engagement, strategic pursuits, proposals, and interviews.

  • Oversee project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.

  • Partner with regional and national teams to deliver integrated solutions and share best practices.

  • Support recruiting, staff development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, safety, inclusion, and technical excellence.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in IL

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience delivering rail and transit transportation projects

  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring engineering professionals

  • Strong project management experience, including managing scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships

  • Familiarity with rail and transit agencies and transportation clients in the Chicago market

  • Experience supporting business development, project pursuits, and strategic growth initiatives

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • Experience working with agencies such as CTA, Metra, Amtrak, RTA, IDOT, or other regional transportation clients
