Responsibilities
Peraton requires Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM. This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
As a Test and Evaluation Systems Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the functionality and performance of software and hardware. Your responsibilities will include performing tier three support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. In addition to possessing in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s software and hardware, you'll need advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and design skills. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical users is essential. Familiarity with the systems engineering process and data is a fundamental requirement for performance improvement. You'll actively participate in working groups, design reviews, and system tests. Additionally, this position involves generating assessments and implementing actionable recommendations based on reviews. Extensive knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance, is crucial.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Analyze the results of software, hardware, or interoperability testing
-
Design, develop, and implement testing methods for USSOCOM's IT infrastructure
-
Create comprehensive test plans, scripts, and scenarios for functional, regression, and deployment testing
-
Conduct thorough analysis, diagnostics, and evaluations of products and systems
-
Make recommendations based on test results
-
Collaborate with development and requirements teams to coordinate and test applications
-
Test, evaluate, and verify hardware and/or software to determine compliance with defined specifications and requirements
-
Monitor and improve testing processes through failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis
-
Provide expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and PowerShell scripting
-
Participate in working groups, design reviews, and system tests
-
Generate assessments and implement solutions for network and system improvements
-
Assisting with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required
-
Maintaining currency in applicable industry standards from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

Translate data and test results into evaluative conclusions
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
-
Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, or 3 years with PHD

Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
-
At least 3 years of related experience in support of a DoD enterprise level IT program
-
Ability to focus on engineering from a performance optimization perspective

Advanced proficiency in MECM
-
Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting
-
In-depth understanding of Active Directory (AD), Trellix, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA)

Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices

Experience with software and hardware integration testing

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP)

Expertise with system engineering processes and techniques

Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Strong technical writing skills
Desired Qualifications:

DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 451 – System Administrator - Intermediate level or higher

MCE Azure Architect OR MCE Azure DevOps Engineer OR VMware Certified Professional (VCP) OR Microsoft Certified Expert related to candidate’s work area

Target Salary Range $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
