Full job description

Description

Come join AWS Data & Analytics, the organization behind the services that store, catalog, govern, and analyze more of the world's data than any other cloud. Our portfolio includes Amazon S3, Amazon S3 Tables, AWS Glue, AWS Lake Formation, Amazon Athena, Amazon EMR, Amazon Redshift, Amazon MWAA, and Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio. Hundreds of thousands of customers use them to build data lakes, warehouses, and AI applications on open source technologies like Apache Iceberg and DuckDB.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a Principal Technical Product Manager to own identity and access across the entire Data & Analytics portfolio, set the multi-year strategy, and own the roadmap that delivers it. Your scope includes:

  • Identity that follows the user. You'll define systems and features that carry corporate identities through every engine and tool.

  • Permissions defined once, enforced everywhere. You'll own a governance model where customers grant access in one place and it holds no matter how the data is reached.

  • Governance at massive scale. You'll make permissions and policies work huge data estates that span across accounts, regions, and AWS Organizations.

  • Simple by default. You'll keep the simple path easy for customers with basic needs, and offer robust fine-grained controls for customers who need them.

  • Identity for AI agents. You'll define how agents authenticate, act on behalf of customers, discover data they are entitled to, and stay within the boundaries customers set.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience

  • 5+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience

  • Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management or leadership experience in a technology context

  • Product experience in identity, access management, security, or data governance for cloud or enterprise SaaS platforms

  • Familiarity with identity standards and protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM) and enterprise identity providers
