Description

About Amazon Web Services

Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers a broad set of global compute, storage, database, analytics, application, and deployment services that help organizations move faster, lower IT costs, and scale applications. These services are trusted by the largest enterprises and the hottest start-ups to power a wide variety of workloads — including web and mobile applications, data processing and warehousing, storage, archive, and many others.

AWS Applied AI Solutions (AAIS) is building toward a future where every business innovates with Amazon AI teammates. To get there, we build AI solutions that improve human capabilities and transform entire business functions. We create end-to-end products that surprise and delight out-of-the-box, making complex things easy and hard things possible, with no cloud experience required. We start with customers who embrace the future and build bridges to meet the rest where they are. We pursue ambitious opportunities with conviction, and we are looking for builders who share that mindset.

The Opportunity

For a decade, WorkSpaces has been exceptional at what it was designed to do: securely deliver a virtual desktop where a user logs in, applications load, work happens, the session ends. It is reactive by design—with no memory of what occurred, no understanding of intent, and no ability to act on the user's behalf. But work has changed. The modern enterprise now runs on three workforces: humans who set direction, AI agents that execute delegated work, and the systems that run the business. Non-human identities already outnumber human ones, yet no infrastructure layer governs all three within a single trust boundary. Whoever solves this—making the secure, governed path the fastest path—will define how the world works for the next decade.

Amazon WorkSpaces is uniquely positioned to lead this transformation. We are extending its trust boundary from humans to humans and AI agents working together, governed by default. This is not an incremental improvement but a reimagining of the workspace itself—from a platform that delivers applications and compute into one that actively partners with users: understanding intent, orchestrating workflows across systems, anticipating needs, and reducing friction at every step.

We are looking for a seasoned product leader to own the end-to-end product strategy for Amazon WorkSpaces and define the future of work at the intersection of human talent and agentic AI. You will treat the workspace not as a container for compute but as the orchestration layer where humans and AI collaborate—reimagining every surface through the lens of human-AI partnership, and making AI adoption effortless for enterprises that have rightly prioritized security, governance, and compliance above all else.

Key job responsibilities

Product Vision & Strategy - Human-AI Collaboration

  • Define and evangelize the product vision for Agentic WorkSpaces—the enterprise platform where humans and AI agents work as one team across modalities—and drive the strategy to deliver it within AWS and across Amazon.

  • Lead the strategic narrative with AWS leadership, enterprise customers, analysts, and the market, articulating why Agentic WorkSpaces is the control plane for the future of work.

  • Own the product strategy for the organizational knowledge layer—a permission-aware shared intelligence that compounds over time, survives attrition, and gives every team member, human or AI, accumulated organizational context from day one.

  • Design products that make security the accelerant, not the obstacle, ensuring the governed path is always the fastest path to business outcomes.

Business & Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy to accelerate adoption.

  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, sales, marketing, solutions architecture, and professional services to bring products to market at scale.

  • Recruit, develop, and inspire product leaders who combine deep technical insight with the product judgment to build experiences that delight enterprise customers.

Cross-AWS Influence

  • Collaborate with Amazon Bedrock, Quick, Alexa and Kiro teams to shape how AWS AI services are integrated and experienced within governed enterprise workspaces.

  • Partner with AWS Identity, Networking, and Security teams to co-develop the trust boundary model that extends enterprise governance from humans to AI agents.

  • Represent WorkSpaces in AWS-wide strategic forums, influencing how Amazon approaches the enterprise future-of-work opportunity.

A day in the life

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are a builder-operator who has shipped transformative products at scale and run them in production at enterprise grade. You make bold bets and validate them with data. You see AI not as a feature to bolt on but as a fundamental shift in how work gets done—and you have the product judgment to make that shift tangible, trustworthy, and irresistible to the most demanding enterprise customers. Energized by ambiguity, you have defined new product categories where no playbook exists, and you think in systems: the workspace, the agent, the identity boundary, the governance model, and the user experience are all facets of a single product thesis.

About the team

Secure Work Enablement (SWE), within the AWS Applied AI team, aims to empower millions of businesses to innovate and collaborate through AI-powered experiences where security is invisible but omnipresent. Our flagship WorkSpaces service has delivered secure cloud-based virtual desktops for over a decade—trusted today by over one million daily users in hospitals, financial institutions, government agencies, and some of the most security-sensitive environments on earth. We are now at the dawn of a foundational transformation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or software development, with at least 5 years in senior product leadership roles.

  • Proven track record of defining and delivering transformative products at enterprise scale — not incremental improvements, but products that created or redefined a category.

  • Experience building and operating cloud-based platforms or infrastructure products used by large enterprise customers in regulated industries.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity: defining the problem, framing the opportunity, and building conviction across engineering, design, and business teams.

  • Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and their practical application in enterprise products — including agentic AI, LLMs, and conversational systems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and strategic narratives to executive audiences.

  • Experience building and scaling high-performing product management organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

One or more of the following are highly desired:

  • Experience building products at the intersection of AI and enterprise security/governance — particularly products that enable AI adoption within compliance-sensitive environments.

  • Experience with go-to-market motions that span self-service, direct enterprise sales, and partner ecosystems.

  • Hands-on experience with UX research, design, and product-led growth methodologies.

  • Strong financial acumen including pricing strategy, and revenue modeling.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, with experience influencing across complex, matrixed organizations.
