On any given day, you'll:

  • Lead and support environmental investigation, compliance, remediation, and Brownfield redevelopment projects.

  • Conduct and oversee field activities, including Phase I and II ESAs, site inspections, monitoring well installation oversight, and soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.

  • Interpret environmental data and prepare technical reports and regulatory documentation.

  • Coordinate project tasks, schedules, budgets, and client communications.

  • Assist with Brownfield-related research and grant writing.

  • Travel locally and nationally for project and field assignments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Earth Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of environmental consulting, regulatory, or related experience (investigation, groundwater or soil sampling, or technical reporting).

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Phase I/II ESAs, hydrogeologic sampling, environmental compliance/permitting, NEPA/WEPA, or Wisconsin NR 700-series investigations.

  • Technical writing experience, organization, communication, and project coordination skills.

  • Willingness to travel in and out of state (including some overnight).

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., navigate uneven terrain, and work outdoors up to 25% of the time.

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Wisconsin and federal environmental regulations (NR 100–700 series, NEPA/WEPA, RCRA, CERCLA, SPCC, etc.).

  • Experience managing environmental project tasks.

  • Four years or more of environmental consulting or regulatory experience.

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (with current annual refresher).

  • Asbestos inspector certification

Benefits of being part of the Ayres team:

  • Health, dental, and vision Insurance.

  • Short and long-term disability and life insurance.

  • Employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) and 401K with company match.

  • PTO, paid holidays including two floating holidays, and a flexible work schedule.
