Full job description

Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift. This role is onsite at our Highland, IL facility. Relocation is not provided. The 2nd Shift hours are from 3PM-11PM.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

As a Production Supervisor, you will provide leadership and direction for a work group within the plant. You will track performance with respect to safety & the environment, quality, on-time delivery, cost for their respective area. In addition, you are the first line contact between production employees and the management staff. The Production Supervisor will work with other functional leaders and managers to optimize the entire product line to exceed the needs of the customer.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the department(s) in daily production activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly expectations at all times.

  • Represent the company when interacting with production employees on the shop floor.

  • Promote a zero-incident culture by enforcing safety principles. Administer first aid and conduct accident investigations as needed.

  • Promote strong employee engagement through communication, employee development, teamwork, and recognition.

  • Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements

  • Be responsible for establishing the direction, focus, and motivation of the production and maintenance personnel.

  • Oversee and/or conducts training of new or existing employees on the assigned shift to support on-going production needs.

  • Schedule work activities for manufacturing personnel, review personnel work performances and provide feedback, coordinate safety and personnel training activities.

  • Counsel employees on behavior/performance issues and initiate disciplinary action as required within the confines of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring required quality control activities are performed.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of safety, quality, equipment, productivity, etc.

  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assigns duties.

  • Work with production planning personnel to prioritize customer orders to coincide with material availability, manpower availability, and the logistics of delivery to meet customer service deadlines and delivery.

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Highland, IL to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Flexibility for rotating weekends as needed.

  • Operations experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing supervisory or management role.

  • SAP business system experience.

  • Kronos experience.
