Respiratory Therapist (RT)Rate: $41/hourShift: Full-Time, Part-Time, Per-DiemSchedule: Days

Taconic Rehabilitation & Nursing at Ulster is looking to add a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to its clinical team. In this role, you'll provide respiratory care services, support pulmonary rehabilitation efforts, and work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess residents with pulmonary diseases, respiratory disorders, and related complications

  • Perform and interpret respiratory assessments, diagnostic testing, and pulmonary function evaluations

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans

  • Administer respiratory treatments, aerosol medications, inhalants, and chest physiotherapy

  • Monitor resident response to treatment and adjust care recommendations as appropriate

  • Operate and monitor ventilators, tracheostomy equipment, oxygen therapy devices, and other respiratory care equipment

  • Provide resident and family education regarding respiratory treatments and equipment use

  • Assist with discharge planning and coordination of respiratory equipment needs

  • Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records

  • Serve as a respiratory care resource and educator for facility staff

  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License required

  • Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required

  • Long-term care experience preferred

  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate documentation

  • Physical ability to perform frequent standing, walking, and resident care activities, including lifting up to 20 pounds
