Full job description

Litigation Associate - Washington, D.C.

Description: Fox Rothschild has an opening in the Washington, D.C. office for a Litigation Associate with three to five years of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of general commercial litigation. We are not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position.

Qualifications: Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia. A license to practice law in Maryland and/or Virginia is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience in general commercial litigation, including risk mitigation and advisory work.

  • Experience drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery.

  • Experience drafting and arguing motions.

  • Experience taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions.

  • Experience advising clients on risk management strategies and resolving complex commercial disputes.

  • Trial experience a plus but not required.

  • Large law firm experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary range for this position applies to Washington, D.C.. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $240,000 - $260,000
