Full job description

We are seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Water team. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on projects that help deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable water and wastewater solutions to communities across the country. You'll contribute to critical infrastructure projects while collaborating with experienced engineers and industry professionals in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced Professional Engineers while engaging with clients, evaluating project needs, and developing engineering solutions for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, and related infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include preparing electrical engineering designs and construction documents, including single-line diagrams, installation details, electrical room layouts, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts, grounding systems, lighting designs, and power distribution plans. You will also support the development of power system studies, including short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash analyses. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you'll participate in engineering calculations, equipment selection, and specification development while coordinating designs with process, civil, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation & controls disciplines.

You will support senior engineers in the selection and specification of electrical equipment including medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), generators, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other infrastructure critical to water and wastewater operations. Additionally, you will have opportunities to participate in field investigations, condition assessments, construction reviews, startup activities, and commissioning support.

We will rely on you to provide support to project teams while fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and inclusion. You'll gain exposure to project management, client interaction, multidisciplinary coordination, and industry-standard design software while developing both your technical and professional skills.

To be successful in this position, you will need strong analytical, conceptual, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Our ideal candidate is passionate about infrastructure and community-focused projects and has a foundational understanding of electrical power systems through coursework, internships, co-op experiences, research projects, or relevant work experience. Experience or interest in water and wastewater treatment facilities, industrial power systems, instrumentation and controls, or municipal infrastructure is highly desirable.

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access).

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.

  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
