Field Services Team Lead
Are you a safety-driven environmental professional who thrives in the field and enjoys leading a high-performing team? We are seeking an Environmental Field Services Team Leader to oversee environmental sampling operations across NY, NJ, PA, and DE, supporting projects at industrial facilities, landfills, remediation sites, ports, and onboard ocean-going vessels.
This is a player-coach role where you will lead a team of Environmental Field Technicians while remaining actively involved in field sampling, customer engagement, project coordination, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Perform environmental sampling and field measurements at a variety of sites, including landfills, Superfund/remediation sites, industrial facilities, and vessels in port
Coordinate the daily field activities, schedules, and resources of a team of Field Technicians
Interface directly with clients to ensure exceptional service and project execution
Maintain accurate field records, chain-of-custody documentation, and regulatory compliance
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture with zero compromise on safe work practices
Ideal Experience
Environmental sampling experience involving groundwater, monitoring wells, drinking water, wastewater, soil, air, emissions, and composite sampling
Working knowledge of NJDEP and other regional environmental sampling requirements and best practices
Experience leading field personnel and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational, communication, and customer-service skills
Commitment to quality, documentation, and sample integrity through strict adherence to GLP and SOPs
Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of environmental field sampling experience
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
Ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs and work in industrial, marine, and outdoor environments
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the regionWe're looking for someone who is conscientious, detail-oriented, obsessed with safety, passionate about environmental field work, and committed to developing a strong team while delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Compensation
The expected hourly range for this position is $27 - $32 hourly. This range represents the minimum and maximum base hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
