Job Description

Are you ready to be at the center of the action, protecting thousands of employees and assets across North America? At JPMorganChase, our Global Security team operates around the clock, and we're looking for a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where your work truly matters.

As an Alarm Monitoring Specialist at JPMorganChase within the Global Security team, you will serve as the primary intake point for security-related incidents across retail branches and corporate locations, acting as the firm's communication and situational awareness hub. You will monitor, research, review, and analyze alarms and video footage to ensure timely compliance with standard operating procedures. Your work directly contributes to the safety of our people and the protection of firm assets — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow within a world-class security organization while making a meaningful impact every single day.

Job responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to alarm signals to ensure the protection of lives and property, following established protocols with accuracy and urgency

  • Dispatch law enforcement, security personnel, or service vendors appropriately based on incident type and severity

  • Manage inbound calls and conduct initial triage and troubleshooting, resolving issues directly or routing them to the appropriate resource

  • Escalate sensitive or high-impact incidents to senior managers and notify relevant Security and Threat teams in a timely and accurate manner

  • Place alarm systems on test when required and create service jobs correctly as needed

  • Report false or problem incidents to the appropriate department for corrective action and resolution

  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed consistently and accurately across every interaction

  • Execute critical alarm testing on schedule and take ownership of identified faults through to resolution

  • Compose and deliver accurate incident communications — verbal and written — to security, operations, resiliency, and facilities responders via internal communication platforms

  • Demonstrate flexibility to support staffing needs during overnights, weekends, holidays, and crisis situations, remaining reachable via email, text, and telephone

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Alarm Monitoring Specialist concepts and 2+ years of applied experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage clearly across all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting ability in time-sensitive or high-pressure environments

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Familiarity with access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection software and hardware

  • Solid understanding of security principles and methodologies

  • High standard of integrity, reliability, and professional judgment

  • Ability to multitask, remain composed under pressure, and think critically before acting

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prior experience in an alarm monitoring center, security operations center, or similar 24x7 environment

  • Experience working within a large, complex organization with multiple locations or sites

  • Familiarity with incident management or dispatch platforms

  • Knowledge of physical security best practices and emergency response protocols

  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus
