Job Description
Important Immigration information:

The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
The Endowed Professor will provide visionary leadership for the Wealth Management Institute, serving as the chief academic and strategic leader responsible for advancing interdisciplinary education, research, innovation, industry partnerships, and community impact in wealth management, financial access, and financial technology.
Responsibilities:

Strategic Vision & Institute Leadership: Serve as the visionary and academic leader of the Wealth Management Institute, developing and implementing its strategic vision and long-term growth plan to establish it as a nationally recognized center and model of excellence in wealth management and ethical financial technology, including leading interdisciplinary collaborations across the College of Business, Roy G. Perry College of Engineering, and other related units.

External Funding & Strategic Partnerships: Secure and sustain external funding through grants, philanthropic support, and corporate partnerships to scale the institute's efforts, while establishing and maintaining partnerships with financial institutions, fintech and technology firms, community organizations, philanthropic organizations, agencies, policymakers, and HBCUs, including the development of workforce pathways.

Personnel Leadership and Mentoring: Manage and mentor institute/college personnel, including faculty affiliates, postdoctoral researchers, staff, financial coaches, and graduate assistants, building an interdisciplinary team engaged in financial well-being research and programming. These efforts include related research, teaching, advisory board activity, and technology integration.

Student Financial Well-Being Programs: Design, implement, and evaluate innovative financial well-being programs tailored to HBCU students, with measurable goals of reducing student loan debt, increasing financial wellness, and advancing student-centered wealth creation.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
-
Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement in financial well-being, economic mobility, financial access, or a related area.
-
Experience leading or contributing to large-scale research initiatives or demonstration projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-
Demonstrated commitment to improving financial well-being and economic opportunity for individuals and communities.

Evidence of successful external grant procurement and management.
-
Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Three to five years of senior leadership experience.

Expertise in institutional and business modeling
-
Experience working with or within HBCUs.
-
Established network within financial services, fintech, or community development finance.

Experience translating research into policy or practice.

Familiarity with student success frameworks and higher education financial aid systems.
