Full job description

Job Description A well-established law firm with 115+ attorneys and a respected Trusts & Estates practice seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Lake Success office. This is a tremendous opportunity to work alongside seasoned litigators handling sophisticated estate litigation, contested probate matters, fiduciary accountings, and guardianship proceedings. Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in contested probate, estate litigation, and Surrogate’s Court matters

  • Handle complex estate administration, fiduciary accountings, and guardianship proceedings

  • Draft motions, petitions, and participate in court appearances and trials

  • Collaborate closely with senior litigators and clients on strategy and case management

  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation and client communications

  • Support business development and client relationship efforts as experience grows

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school

  • Admission to practice law in New York

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:

  • Estate litigation

  • Contested probate

  • Surrogate’s Court practice

  • Familiarity with estate administration, fiduciary accounting, and guardianship proceedings

  • Excellent organizational, legal research, and writing skills

  • Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook

  • A small portable book of business is a plus but not required

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
