Full job description
Clean luxury. Better for you. At Everlane, we believe luxury should be as effortless as it is conscious. We partner with ethical factories, work with premium, sustainably sourced materials, and strive to leave the industry cleaner than we found it. There's still much to do, and we're excited to grow a team of motivated humans ready for the challenge. The journey toward better continues. Everlane is looking for a highly motivated Director to lead our Company Planning function, with a focus on commercial finance and embedded business partnership. You will work directly with our operating teams to develop and challenge the sales, margin, inventory, marketing, channel and customer assumptions that drive our business forecast, and turn those insights into actionable recommendations. You will be dedicated to Everlane and work closely with SHEIN Group FP&A as part of an integrated finance organization. You will build the commercial outlook with Everlane’s business leaders, while Group FP&A owns the consolidated financial framework, Group reporting and integration of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow. Functional leaders retain accountability for their operating assumptions and results. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, strategic, detail-oriented and curious, with deep consumer business understanding. You can move from detailed customer, unit and channel analysis to an integrated company outlook, challenge assumptions constructively, and roll up your sleeves to build models and solve problems. This position reports to senior Everlane Leadership. This is a full-time remote role, with a preference for candidates in the Los Angeles area.
Your day-to-day:
- Sales and Margin planning. Own the integrated sales forecast across channels, supported by traffic, conversion, average selling price/order value, units, customer behavior and channel performance. Forecast gross margin and its drivers, including pricing, promotions, markdowns, product cost, freight, duties and channel mix. Partner with E-commerce, Retail, Merchandising and Marketing to build assumptions, lead ongoing reforecasting, and maintain daily and weekly sales reporting.
- Inventory and working capital. Connect the sales forecast to inventory, receipts and purchasing requirements. Forecast inventory levels, turns and weeks of supply; partner with Merchandising, Planning and Supply Chain on excess inventory, shortages and receipt risks; and model the implications for margin and cash flow.
- Marketing effectiveness. Partner with Marketing/Growth to develop investment plans and expected outcomes. Evaluate customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on ad spend (ROAS), contribution margin and productivity; assess marginal returns; and support allocation across marketing channels and customer segments.
- Customer planning. Forecast new and retained customer counts, average order value, purchase frequency and revenue per customer. Translate customer trends into sales forecasts and marketing decisions, using cohort insights developed by analytics partners.
- Annual budget and integrated planning. Own Everlane’s annual budget and rolling forecasts, coordinating functional leaders and Group FP&A. Integrate sales, margin, inventory, marketing, channel and customer plans; align expense inputs and Group requirements; and quantify risks, opportunities and upside/downside scenarios.
- Business partnership and accountability. Work with functional leaders to create expense forecasts and challenge assumptions using historical performance, operating KPIs and business context. Establish clear ownership of forecast drivers, explain results through those drivers, and track risks, opportunities and actions against business objectives.
- Unit planning and economics. Build granular unit forecasts for inbound receipts, outbound shipments, returns and sales by channel. Partner with Planning, Supply Chain and Group FP&A to reconcile unit flows and model per-unit revenue, margin and operating costs as inputs to Group financial forecasts.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in company planning, commercial finance or FP&A, with demonstrated ownership of commercial forecasts and business partnership.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, apparel or consumer businesses is required, including hands-on sales, margin, inventory and channel analysis.
- Strong customer planning and digital marketing measurement experience, including forecasting new and retained customers, order value and frequency, and connecting marketing investment to revenue and profitability.
- Technical capability and hands-on willingness to build driver-based financial models, analyze detailed data and develop scenarios.
- A track record of working with operating leaders to build forecasts, challenge assumptions and establish accountability for results.
- Ability to turn complex analysis into clear recommendations and build collaborative relationships across the organization.
- The ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, balance strategic thinking with detailed execution, and develop the company planning function as business needs evolve.
