Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for our business in Solano County, California. This role will oversee key areas such as lease accounting, fixed assets, close activities, and financial reporting while helping maintain strong compliance and reporting standards. The ideal candidate brings sound technical accounting knowledge, strong analytical judgment, and a proactive approach to improving processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and evaluate detailed journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports to support accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual results.

• Oversee accounting activities related to fixed assets and leases, ensuring records are complete, compliant, and properly maintained.

• Manage period-end close responsibilities across assigned areas of the general ledger and help deliver timely financial statements.

• Partner with internal and external auditors by organizing documentation, responding to inquiries, and supporting successful audit execution.

• Strengthen accounting operations by monitoring internal controls and helping ensure adherence to established policies and reporting requirements.

• Drive enhancements to accounting workflows and reporting practices to improve accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.

• Support optimization of NetSuite and related accounting processes to better serve financial reporting and operational needs.

• Contribute subject matter expertise for broader accounting activities, including cross-functional support tied to multi-location operations.

Requirements • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for complex general ledger and close activities.

• Strong background in month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.

• Hands-on experience with lease accounting and fixed asset accounting in a corporate environment.

• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Proficiency with ERP systems, including NetSuite or comparable accounting platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and work effectively with cross-functional business partners.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
