Job Description

Our client is seeking a Process Design Engineer to lead technical engineering work supporting liquids-making systems and manufacturing platforms. This role will focus on the front-end design and specification of process systems, determining how equipment such as tanks, pumps, piping, valves, agitators, instrumentation, and sensors work together to manufacture liquid and formulated products.

The individual will partner with R&D, manufacturing, site engineering, regional engineering, and external engineering partners to translate product and process requirements into complete system designs and specifications. This role is focused on overall process architecture and engineering direction rather than detailed CAD or component-level design. The engineer will develop specifications for external engineering partners, review detailed designs for technical accuracy, and support implementation and startup.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of relevant process, mechanical, chemical, or manufacturing engineering experience. Experience designing liquid processing or formulated-product manufacturing systems. Strong understanding of process equipment, including tanks, pumps, piping, valves, agitators, instrumentation, and sensors. Experience translating product, formula, or manufacturing requirements into process designs, system architecture, and technical specifications. Ability to develop front-end design requirements that can be provided to engineering contractors for detailed design and construction. Experience reviewing contractor or vendor designs and ensuring they meet process and technical requirements. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and how individual pieces of equipment integrate into a complete making system. Ability to independently lead technical work and collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, engineering, and external partners. Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to translate complex engineering requirements into clear technical direction. Controls or automation experience within process manufacturing environments. Knowledge of instrumentation, process control, PLCs, sensors, and automated valving. Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, startup, or scale-up. Experience working with third-party engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, or system integrators. Background in beauty/personal care, pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, food, beverage, brewing, dairy, or other liquid-processing industries. Experience with global or multi-site manufacturing projects. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other design-tool experience is beneficial but not required, as this position is focused on overall process/system design rather than detailed drafting.
