Direct Care Worker

POSITION SUMMARY We are hiring for a female consumer with moderate dementia in Southampton. The right candidates have an immense amount of patience and understanding, experience with dementia-related care, and common sense. Follow the plan of care. Ask questions when the answer is not apparent. SCHEDULE 1. Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40hrs) DUTIES 1. Bathing, dressing, and companion assistance 2. Daily meal prep, medication reminders, and housekeeping assistance 3. Assist with prescribed 1-hour leg-compression therapy per the plan of care 4. Observe and promptly report changes in condition, appetite, skin, mood, mobility, or behavior to the supervisor 5. Use patience, cueing, and calm redirection where appropriate. 6. Take notes during the shift. Transcribe those notes and complete all required EVV entries before the shift ends. COMPENSATION $20.00/hour REQUIREMENTS 1. Experience with dementia-related care. 2. Immense patience, understanding, and sound common sense. 3. Ability to follow a plan of care and communicate with care team. 4. Able to take clear shift notes, transcribe them, and operate an EVV system. 5. Current driver's license 6. Vehicle registered in the candidate's name, with current registration and current auto insurance 7. Willingness to complete a background check paid by the agency 8. Current negative TB QuantiFERON test results, obtained and paid for by the candidate 9. Age 18 or older and legally authorized to work in the United States 10. Able to read, write, and communicate in English with the supervisor and household staff PREFERRED 1. Prior experience in a personal care or in-home setting 2. Current DCW certification or equivalent Pennsylvania-recognized competency (CNA, HHA, or qualifying training or competency exam) 3. Current CPR and First Aid 4. Experience with health monitoring, medication reminders, and EVV documentation SERVICE AREA This posting is for the Southampton-based consumer described above. Hired caregivers may also be assigned to other cases in Bucks County and Montgomery County, based on consumer need and caregiver availability.
