Job Description We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices and a proven ability to design, build, containerize, and modernize backend services with autonomy. Responsibilities: * Design application code and implement technical solutions across environments to address business needs. * Develop applications to solve analytical and transactional problems. * Execute all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, design, development, and testing. * Design and implement product features, reusable components, frameworks, and libraries with business and IT stakeholders. * Partner with strategic customers to containerize applications using modern containerization methodologies. * Develop best practices for containerizing and modernizing diverse application platforms. * Code, test, release, and support backend services and data integrations. * Design software solutions to address complex engineering challenges. * Automate build, test, and deployment processes for robust delivery. Required Skills & Qualifications: * Technical degree or equivalent related work experience. * Proficiency in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot for backend microservices. * Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture. * Experience with AWS services for building and operating cloud-native applications. * Knowledge of Backbase APIs and API management concepts. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy as a senior developer. * Experience level: 5+ years in backend engineering or similar roles. Preferred Skills: * Background in banking, payments, or money movement domains. * Experience with Agile or Scrum delivery practices. Why BCforward?
