Description

SAIC is seeking a detail-oriented Linux Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer to work at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center alongside the government customer.

As a Linux Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer, you will apply strong Linux administration, troubleshooting, and technical communication skills to support mission, operational, engineering, research, and administrative activities. You will collaborate with government personnel, subject-matter experts, developers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to assess technical issues, evaluate solution options, identify risks and dependencies, and communicate recommendations clearly. You will develop and maintain standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, technical documentation, and concise status updates that support reliable, repeatable, and mission-relevant operations. Your expertise will help ensure systems and supporting environments are properly maintained, well documented, and delivered on schedule in accordance with established processes.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Active DoW Secret clearance or higher.

  • Bachelor’s degree (four-year) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and professional experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux systems. Must be able to work effectively and independently in command-line-only environments.

  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) concepts and tools; able to support build, test, deployment, validation, rollback, and release-management workflows.

  • Working knowledge of general cloud concepts, including compute, storage, networking, identity and access management, virtualization, containers, availability, scalability, monitoring, and shared-responsibility principles.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess technical issues, evaluate multiple solution options, identify risks and dependencies, and communicate recommendations clearly.

  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and concise status updates.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with collaborative and technical-workflow tools such as SharePoint, Teams, Confluence, Git-based repositories, ticketing systems, or similar platforms.
