Job Description Summary

Provides support in the operation of Southeast Health fitness center. Assists with member sign up, check in, and helps answer phone. This position conducts new member orientations. This position functions in a support role to help our members exercise safely.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate the proper use of exercise equipment.

  • Work the registration desk to get new members signed up, answer phones, provide tours, file paperwork, schedule appointments, stock towels, and sell merchandise.

  • Assist employees and others in a professional and timely manner.

  • Conduct new member orientations.

  • Help ensure our facility is clean and safe for members. Including cleaning weight and cardio equipment, emptying towel bins, cleaning mirrors, re-racking weights, and sweeping/vacuuming floors as needed.

  • Maintain equipment and keep it in safe working conditions with the ability to perform minor adjustments, recognize limitations and report other repair needs.

  • Performs other duties as requested by primary manager that do not compromise moral code of conduct or protocols set in place for member safety.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum Education Preferred

  • N/A

Minimum Experience Required

  • Must have a current CPR certification or receive certification within six (6) months from date of hire.

Minimum Experience Preferred

  • Experience in sport and heath fitness

  • Group Fitness Certification from a nationally recognized organization.

Required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency.

  • Ability to respond urgently in an emergency.

  • Demonstrates general to working knowledge of fitness equipment operation and handling.

  • Ability to provide a welcome and inviting atmosphere.

  • Passion for making a difference in people’s lives.

  • Demonstrates ability to work with visitors, and co-workers regardless of race, gender, life-style, religious or cultural beliefs.

  • Apply a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Basic computer skills utilizing a Microsoft environment.

  • Person in this position is required to understand, agree upon and follow our Six Ground Rules:
