Major/Essential Functions:

• Supervises and teaches residents and medical students in classroom and clinical settings.

• Works in close conjunction with Orthopaedic department chair and PM&R faculty to develop a long-term PM&R division strategic plan.

• Provides patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings affiliated with a Level 1 Trauma Center.

• Performs outpatient procedures including injections, ultrasound, and EMO.

• Develops rehabilitation protocols at the University Medical Center of El Paso for patients requiring rehabilitation services.

• Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship.

• Serves the academic community through participations with committee work and other administrative duties.

• Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission.

• Ensures compliance with 1-llPAA and billing regulations.

• Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

• Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.

• Upholds and promotes the value-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso.

Required Qualifications:

• M.D. or D.O. Degree

• Successful completion of an ACOME-accredited residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

• Texas medical licensure or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English/Spanish

• Board certification by the American Board Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

• Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher
