Instructor - Chemistry (Spring 2027- Tenure Track)

Location: Utica, NY

Job Type: Full-Time, 10-Month

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues. We seek candidates with: (1) an understanding of the college mission and teaching experience in a comprehensive community college; (2) a focus on student success in a learner-centered environment; and (3) a willingness to use technology to support learning in the academic setting, including on-line instruction and assessment of student learning outcomes.

MVCC is seeking to fill a tenure-track, ten-monthInstructorposition in the School of STEM-Transfer. This position will provide instruction for chemistry courses including the General Chemistry sequence for science and engineering majors and College Chemistry for students in health professions.

Full-time faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Courses may be taught in a traditional classroom and online formats. This position may include both daytime and evening classes on our Utica and/or Rome campuses. Other specific assignments will be made based on the individual's academic qualifications and program needs. In addition to teaching, full-time instructors participate in program assessment, curriculum development, student advisement, facilitating student experiences, recruiting for the program and serve on various School and College Committees.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Chemistry or related discipline

  • Teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Community college teaching experience with a wide variety of students

Additional Information:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
