This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

The Multimedia Producer is the lead photographer, videographer and multimedia content producer for MnDOT. The primary role is to collect professional level content that highlights MnDOT’s role in making Minnesota the best state to visit, live, work and do business. They are also the lead in-house editor executing deliverables that support paid marketing and support editing of digital-ready content. They are the key lead in internal photography collection, editing, organization and publishing. This position will also be responsible for all aspects of video production, including pre-production development, planning, filming, sourcing, coordinating releases and licensure, as well as post-production duties like editing, audio mixing, and color correction.

The position leads the agency’s video and photo asset management processes and will utilize a thorough understanding of assets available to make recommendations for photo and video inclusions across MnDOT channels. The Multimedia Producer supports all units of MnDOT, including but not limited to social media strategy, digital strategy and statewide communications strategy. The position reports to the Communications and Public Engagement Deputy Director and develops content to support social media, district construction and other topics as assigned.

MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for visas or Optional Practical Exam for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of advanced professional experience in the areas noted below:

Note: A bachelor's or master’s degree in journalism, video journalism or photography will substitute for six months of advanced professional experience.

  • Experience with photo and video journalism space or in multimedia storytelling sufficient to develop, plan, implement and lead production plans;

  • Experience with video filming, editing software expertise, such as: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Final Cut, or other similar industry-standard software;

  • Expertise with in-field and studio recording with industry-standard equipment;

  • Experience with professional lighting equipment;

  • Experience in writing for varied audiences to effectively communicate to customers/stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Drone pilot license

  • Knowledge ofaccessibility requirements to ensure content follows best practices for accessibility and complies with applicable accessibility laws.
