BROAD FUNCTION
The Career and Transfer Specialist is responsible for providing students with career and transfer information, materials, programs, planning assistance, and opportunities related to career and transfer pathways. The Specialist provides individualized and group support to assist students in exploring career and transfer options, developing educational and career goals, and identifying milestones that support retention, completion, transfer, and successful transitions to employment or further education. The Career and Transfer Specialist ensures that established goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with departmental priorities and the College's strategic plan.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide individualized coaching and proactive outreach to support students in career and transfer planning, identifying their educational and career goals, and successfully transitioning to employment, transfer, or further education.

Create, develop, and implement comprehensive career and transfer programs, resources, materials, and opportunities that support students in exploring and pursuing career and transfer options, navigating career and transfer pathways, and preparing for employment or further education.

Collaborate with faculty, school specialists, student navigators, employers, and transfer partners to provide career and transfer exploration resources, workshops, classroom presentations, fairs, and other student engagement opportunities.

Provide guidance to students seeking internships, work-based learning, and other experiential learning opportunities that support their career and educational goals.

Create and maintain accessible career exploration, career pathway, and transfer planning materials and resources for integration into school outreach, onboarding, orientation, and other student support activities.

Coordinate with school specialists to incorporate career planning, career exploration, and transfer preparation activities into school calendars, events, and student engagement opportunities.

Establish and maintain partnerships with local employers and transfer institutions to expand opportunities and support students in their career and transfer readiness.

Assist with new student orientation, welcome activities, and other initiatives designed to support student engagement and success.

Deliver professional development to faculty, student navigators, and staff on career and transfer resources, career exploration, transfer planning, and key preparation milestones.

Track and maintain records related to student employment, internships, experiential learning, transfer planning, applications, program activities, and student outcomes; prepare periodic reports, statistical information, and other documentation as required.

Assist with other Student Affairs duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, university or foreign equivalency in a field appropriate to the position; at least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas preferably in higher education: career exploration, experiential education, career services, career or occupational counseling. Master's degree in a field appropriate to the position may substitute for 1 year of experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.

Additional Information:
-
Salary range is: $44,000 - $55,000, commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
