Full job description

General Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician role is responsible for helping bridging the gap between manufacturing operations and Manufacturing Engineering. This role will work autonomously to help support the manufacturing floor by trouble shooting production and test equipment, tooling, and assembly processes. Additionally, you will use data to support generating continuous improvement activities and ensuring preventative maintenance across equipment.

Specific Duties:

  • Support Manufacturing by troubleshooting and diagnosing process, equipment, and quality issues.

  • Troubleshoot custom manufacturing and test equipment in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assist with preventative maintenance and repair duties on departmental manufacturing equipment including related pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Use of hand tools, power tools and machining equipment to modify, construct or repair components for equipment.

  • Assist with providing operators and assemblers with training on production equipment and tools.

  • Analyze production to suggest improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes.

  • Maintain equipment database and assist with procurement on spare items for production and test equipment.

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers in the specification and development of new manufacturing equipment.

  • Provide Maintenance Technicians and Manufacturing Engineers with data and troubleshooting information to assist with corrective actions and repairs.

  • Interface with PLC's (specifically Allen Bradley) to troubleshoot machine issues or modify programs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or Technical field (preferred)

  • Experienced working in a technical Manufacturing environment (2+ years desired).

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to interpret complex drawings and data, manuals, and handbooks.

  • Experience with electrical testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, dielectric testers, and ohmmeters.

  • Thorough knowledge on hydraulic circuitry and components, including motors, pumps, valves, and high-pressure plumbing.

  • Understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring inputs/outputs.

  • Ability to use computer software, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

  • Familiarity with 3D printing equipment (FDM and SLA).

  • Desired ability to learn.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
