Plant Manager

Job description: Central Builders Supply Company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our ready-mix concrete plant in Sunbury PA. Central Builders is a third-generation, family-owned business with almost 100 years of experience serving our communities with quality ready mix concrete and building materials. This leadership role is responsible for plant performance, team supervision, safety compliance, equipment maintenance, and product quality. We are looking for a motivated professional who takes pride in running an efficient, safe, and high-quality operation while supporting drivers, dispatch, and customers. In this position, you will report directly to the General Manager. Key Responsibilities: 1. Manage day-to-day plant operations in a wet batch concrete plant to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production 2. Supervise and support a team of 5-10 ready mix drivers 3. Coordinate daily schedules and loads with dispatch 4. Complete all required paperwork and administrative duties including, but not limited to payroll, invoice approvals, ticketing, and managing inventory with the use of computers, tablets, or cell phones to ensure proper accounting and timekeeping practices are executed (Pre Trip inspections, time reporting, truck reports, trip tickets, etc.) 5. Oversee plant maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs 6. Ensure compliance with all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures 7. Maintain quality control standards for concrete production 8. Work with state certified mix designs and testing requirements 9. Monitor inventory, materials, and production efficiency 10. Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example 11. Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work, as this job description is non-exhaustive. Qualifications: 1. 5+ years of experience in ready mix concrete, construction materials, or similar operations (preferred) 2. ACI Certification and a working knowledge of the various ACI tests or willing to acquire 3. PA DOT technician certification, or willing to acquire 4. Understand mix design differences and be able to visually inspect for proper materials, verify the load size to the ticket, check proper slump, and be able to make adjustments. 5. Prior supervisory or management experience 6. Knowledge of plant operations, batching systems, and equipment maintenance 7. Experience with state certified mix designs and quality control testing a plus 8. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills 9. Possess excellent communications skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms 10. Mechanical aptitude and ability to coordinate repairs 11. Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance 12. Valid driver's license required Physical Requirements: 1.
