Description

Maine Veterans' Homes South Paris is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Manager to join our team and provide leadership for our nursing staff and residents.

MVH South Paris was recently awarded a "Golden Trophy" by CMS, allowing them to be eligible for risk-based surveys. Only 12% of nursing homes in the country have been awarded this honor!

You will play a key role in ensuring residents receive high-quality, compassionate care while supporting and developing the nursing team. This is an opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with your leadership skills in a mission-driven organization dedicated toCaring for Those Who Served.

You will oversee the day-to-day operations of your assigned nursing unit, coordinate resident care, support staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and work closely with nursing leadership and the interdisciplinary team to promote the highest quality of life for our residents.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of an assigned nursing unit.

  • Coordinate and evaluate comprehensive resident care plans and ensure care is delivered according to resident needs, MVH policies, and applicable regulations.

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to Charge Nurses, Staff Nurses, CNAs, CNA/Ms, Rehabilitation CNAs, and CNA-In-Trainings.

  • Monitor residents' conditions and ensure appropriate follow-up with physicians, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of nursing documentation, assessments, MDS-related documentation, progress notes, and care plans.

  • Monitor medication processes and conduct required audits to promote safe and compliant medication practices.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing and effective assignment of personnel to meet resident care needs.

  • Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate nursing staff while addressing performance concerns in a fair and consistent manner.

  • Participate in hiring, employee relations, investigations, and other supervisory responsibilities as assigned.

  • Respond to resident and family concerns and work collaboratively to resolve issues.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, in-service education, surveys, inspections, and regulatory activities.

  • Work closely with the Director of Nursing Services and Nursing Supervisor on nursing operations, regulatory requirements, quality initiatives, and strategic planning.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Current and validMaine Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Strong knowledge of nursing standards of practice and the ability to apply state, federal, and VA regulations.

  • Strong communication, organizational, time-management, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to effectively lead, delegate, coach, and support a diverse nursing team.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Three to five years of nursing experience, particularly in geriatrics, rehabilitation, education, psychiatric nursing, or long-term care.

  • Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Experience working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment.

$86,132.80 - $109,761.60 Yearly
