Job Summary:

P&C Private Client Group (PCG/affluent lines) is a division of NFP Property & Casualty. We are a retail operation for affluent and wealthy individuals and families seeking personal lines products in the United States, parts of Europe, and Canada. Our headquarters are in New York City with offices across the country - specializing in insurance ranging from homeowners and auto to specialty lines, such as aircraft and watercraft.

This is a full-time role with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule from our Bethesda, MD office. We are open to considering an exceptionally qualified remote candidate. Some travel may be required for business or client deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds, manages, and leads a team to handle marketing, ongoing service, and risk management.

  • Leads sales activities with P&C complex clients and prospects.

  • Confers with senior sales leaders on setting targets and reports actual results. Reviews sales results with members of sales team, strategizing changes and troubleshooting problems.

  • Influences policies and may monitor sales teams within office to ensure compliance.

  • Involved in new hire selections and internal promotions that impact the sales team. May require review with the SVP or other senior leader.

  • Develops and initiates plans to increase sales, lower costs, and continuously improve operations.

  • Confers with senior management on setting targets and reports actual results.

  • Reviews sales results with subordinates, strategizing changes and troubleshooting problems.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key client and prospect stakeholders and carrier representatives.

  • Acts as subject matter authority for company products and services.

  • Provides mentoring and coaching to team members.

  • May be involved in setting policies and the monitoring of offices within the region to ensure compliance.

  • May decide on all new hire selections and internal promotions.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • When working from home, you must maintain a private workspace to secure company equipment and correspondence; maintain high-speed internet, be present and responsive online and minimize personal interruptions during your work shift

  • Must have Personal Lines and High Net Worth/Private Client Group (PCG) client coverage experience

  • P&C Account/Client Management experience with a retail brokerage or independent agency

  • Familiarity with major markets, such as AIG, Chubb/ACE, PURE, BerkleyOne and Cincinnati. This includes knowledge of their products, appetite and experience with their quoting systems

  • Must be able to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports

  • Highly professional and self-motivated

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with clients, colleagues, and carriers and interact with a variety of people/personalities

  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel. Possess technical expertise plus solid analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong writing skills include clear writing and careful editing for spelling and grammar. The candidate varies writing style to suit needs, presents numeric data effectively, and reads and interprets written information.

  • Self-confident to make sound independent decisions and demonstrate strong leadership skills

  • Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner

  • Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS preferred; Master's degree in relevant subject (e.g., business, statistics, math/science, actuarial science) also desirable

  • More than 15 years of directly related industry sales experience.

  • In addition to familiarity with the major markets as mentioned above, a familiarity with carriers such as Travelers and Progressive as well as The National Flood Ins. Program

  • Leadership and supervisory experience, including training or mentorship

  • Experience with an agency management system/CRM is required. Fluency with Epic is a plus
