Visa Information:

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Position Description:

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Department of Internal Medicine in Amarillo is dedicated to patient care, teaching at the resident and medical student levels and research. It's a strong and growing department with a close faculty-resident/student interrelationship and a strong foundation in general internal medicine.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Provide Hospitalist Services at community hospital. This includes patient admissions and patient care inclusive of patient rounds.

  • Perform medical examinations for all patients in accordance with departmental expectations.

  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress and provide patient education and referrals as appropriate.

  • Complete timely and accurate patient medical records.

  • Participate in the training and mentoring of medical students, residents and fellows.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD/DO or equivalent;

  • Completion of Residency in Internal Medicine;

  • Board certified, board eligible, or in the process of becoming board eligible in Internal Medicine; and

  • Current TX medical license.

  • Foreign Medical Graduates Only: ECFMG Certification OR Equivalency Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of inpatient experience.
