Full job description
Description We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in South Jordan, Utah on a Contract basis. This position is suited for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who can deliver accurate payroll processing while supporting compliance, employee data integrity, and responsive service across the organization. The role works closely with Human Resources and Finance to help maintain reliable payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

Administer payroll cycles on a weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly schedule, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.

Maintain and update payroll-related employee information, including earnings, deductions, benefit elections, garnishments, and tax details.

Use BambooHR to manage employee records, generate payroll-related reports, and support day-to-day payroll administration.

Review payroll entries and supporting data to identify discrepancies and confirm alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Address employee payroll inquiries promptly and resolve pay-related issues in a timely manner.

Compile payroll reports and contribute to month-end and year-end payroll activities, including supporting documentation and reconciliations.

Process HR system updates related to new hires, employment changes, and separations to keep payroll records current.

Assist with payroll tax activities, year-end forms such as W-2s, and other compliance-related tasks.

Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure compensation and employee records remain accurate, complete, and confidential. Requirements • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Background processing payroll for large employee populations, including environments with more than 500 employees.

Knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, payroll deductions, garnishments, and tax-related requirements.

Hands-on experience with payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now and familiarity with BambooHR.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to audit data, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues efficiently.

Ability to collaborate effectively with Human Resources, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.

Excellent communication skills and a customer-service approach when responding to employee payroll questions.

Ability to handle sensitive employee and compensation information with a high level of confidentiality.
