Position Summary/Description:

The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting at the level of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Tenured Associate Professor in Philosophy of Emerging Technologies, broadly construed, including, but not limited to, the ethical, societal, legal, and policy implications of innovations in biotechnology, AI, diagnostics, therapeutics, and other emerging technologies. The successful applicant will normally teach two courses per semester (graduate and/or undergraduate); will be involved in thesis supervision; and will have other standard non-teaching duties such as departmental administration, graduate and undergraduate mentorship, and participation in our department’s vigorous intellectual life.
