Job Summary
Naval Power Systems is seeking a driven, technically capable Project Engineer to help deliver high-impact power solutions supporting the U.S. Navy and other critical defense missions. In this role, you will turn complex engineering requirements into coordinated, executable programs - working across engineering disciplines, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management to deliver reliable systems on schedule.
If you thrive at the intersection of technical problem-solving and project execution, enjoy bringing teams together around a shared objective, and want your work to make a meaningful difference, this is an opportunity to build solutions that matter.
What You Will Do
As a Project Engineer, you will serve as a key technical leader throughout the product and program lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:
-
Lead technical planning, coordination, and execution for assigned engineering projects and product deliverables.
-
Translate customer, system, and program requirements into actionable engineering plans.
-
Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, manage risks, and keep projects on track.
-
Coordinate design reviews, technical documentation, verification activities, and engineering change efforts.
-
Monitor technical scope, schedule, cost, and performance commitments; communicate progress and risks clearly to stakeholders.
-
Support the transition of designs from development through qualification, production, and sustainment.
-
Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, product performance, quality, and manufacturability.
-
Foster strong collaboration among internal teams, suppliers, and customers while maintaining a mission-focused mindset.
Education & Experience Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
-
5+ years of experience supporting engineering projects, product development, systems integration, manufacturing, or program execution in a complex technical environment.
-
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
-
Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
-
Experience working in cross-functional teams and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
-
A proactive, detail-oriented approach to identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving results.
-
Experience in defense, aerospace, marine, power systems, electromechanical systems, or other highly regulated industries.
-
Familiarity with configuration management, requirements management, engineering change processes, and product lifecycle management.
-
Project management experience or certification.
-
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and design-for-manufacturability principles.
Build the systems that keep the mission moving. Apply today.
