Responsibilities

The Lead Medical Technologist must be knowledgeable in the operation of every laboratory section, perform the duties of a Medical Technologist III and assist the supervisor and take charge in the absence of the supervisor in monitoring shift operation in all sections of the laboratory.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.

  • Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

  • Associate's degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

  • Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

  • Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1.Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a clinical laboratory

  • Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.

  • Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test

PREFERRED

  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Work Hours: 9p-7:30a Weekend Requirements: No
