Job Responsibilities:

The School of Arts and Sciences seeks a Visiting Professor of Psychology to begin Fall 2027. We seek candidates with a Masters or Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field. Preferred specializations include cognitive science, user interface, user experience, data analytics or human-computer interaction. This position carries a 12 hour teaching load per semester and involves teaching undergraduate courses across multiple modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid). Faculty are expected to contribute meaningfully across research, teaching, and service while actively engaging with students and the broader Fisher community.

The candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate psychology courses; assess student learning and progress.

• Develop and teach lower-level courses in psychology and cognitive science, such as

• Cognitive processes

• Research Methods

• Introduction to Psychology

• Data Analytics

• Intro to UX/UI/ HCI

• Develop and teach innovative, upper-level courses tailored to your expertise, such as:

• Applied Research in UX/UI/ HCI

• Cognitive Neuroscience or related areas

• Advise and mentor students and support recruitment and retention efforts.

• Utilize an array of teaching techniques.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of courses, programs, and School initiatives.

• Collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and the professional community to advance the School’s mission.

• Provide service to the Department, School, University, profession, and broader community, and share expertise through scholarly and professional outlets.

Education / Experience:

Required:

• Proof of permanent right to work in the US on first day of employment.

• A terminal degree in psychology or related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed by August 2027.

Preferred:

• Professional experience in related fields of psychology.

• Experience teaching undergraduate courses.

• Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or professional experience in cognitive science, user interface, user experience, or human-computer interaction.

Work Hours:

• Full-time, 9-month teaching load with opportunities for summer teaching

• Availability and willingness to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities as well as to participate in and support School of Arts and Sciences and University events
