Full job description
Description We are looking for a California-certified Paralegal Manager to lead legal support operations for a boutique litigation practice in California. This permanent, on-site position combines department leadership with hands-on oversight of complex document review efforts, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, organization, and risk-sensitive handling of confidential records. The role supports defense-side employment litigation matters, primarily for public sector clients, and works closely with attorneys to keep projects moving efficiently and consistently.
Responsibilities:

Direct large-scale document review initiatives, including coordinating collection, preservation, preparation, and workflow management for materials under review.

Supervise a team of review professionals, providing guidance, assigning work, and monitoring output to maintain quality and deadlines.

Partner with attorneys to define review priorities, refine project scope, and identify the most significant information for each matter.

Oversee the redaction process for confidential content, ensuring sensitive medical, personnel, and related records are handled with precision.

Manage daily operations for the legal support function, including docketing, court filings, subpoena support, and trial readiness activities.

Maintain complete and well-organized physical and digital case files to support efficient case management across matters.

Establish and improve litigation support procedures that promote consistency, accuracy, and dependable service across the department.

Balance multiple active assignments by coordinating timelines, escalating priorities when needed, and aligning team efforts with firm objectives. Requirements • Certification as a paralegal in California in accordance with applicable state requirements.

Recent experience leading document review projects and managing staff in a legal environment.

Strong organizational, project coordination, and communication skills in a collaborative department setting.

Ability to work with firm leadership and attorneys to prioritize competing demands and meet concurrent deadlines.

Sharp attention to detail paired with sound judgment on broader case and department priorities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recent experience working within an Apple macOS environment.

Background supporting litigation operations, including calendaring, e-filing, document review, and eDiscovery processes.

Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
