Link Solutions is seeking a Technical Designer to join our team in Orlando, FL.

  • U.S. Citizen

The Technical Designer will support the South East Region Cyberspace Support Center (RCSC). The CAD Drafter will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating technical drawings, network infrastructure documentation, and engineering records supporting mission-critical Government operations.

This position is responsible for developing accurate as-built drawings, validating infrastructure documentation, maintaining design records, and supporting engineering and telecommunications projects. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, systems teams, and Government stakeholders to ensure documentation remains accurate, current, and compliant with applicable standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in CAD drafting, engineering documentation, and the production of accurate technical drawings within a structured engineering, telecommunications, or Department of Defense environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create as-built drawings using existing engineering drawings, technical documentation, and Geographic Information System (GIS) site maps.

  • Develop geo-spatially accurate as-built drawings utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) data to document manholes, hand holes, pedestals, building entrances, pathways, and supporting infrastructure.

  • Validate site drawings and submit red-line changes for review and approval.

  • Produce detailed technical drawings and plans based on project specifications and engineering requirements.

  • Update and maintain CAD drawings to reflect design changes, modifications, and infrastructure updates.

  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical teams to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure all drawings comply with applicable engineering standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with preparation of project documentation, technical reports, and engineering deliverables.

  • Conduct site visits and field verification activities to gather data and validate existing infrastructure conditions.

  • Utilize AutoCAD, Visio, MicroStation, and related CAD software to create, modify, and maintain technical drawings.

  • Maintain drawing repositories, documentation libraries, and engineering records in accordance with configuration management requirements.

  • Support network infrastructure, telecommunications, and facilities documentation efforts.

  • Perform quality assurance reviews of drawings and documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness.

  • Support engineering, modernization, and infrastructure improvement initiatives through CAD drafting, documentation management, and design support expertise.

Compensation Range:

  • $75,000 - $85,000 annually

  • Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

Several factors influence final compensation, including relevant experience, technical expertise, certifications, and education.

  • U.S. Citizen.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a CAD Drafter or in CAD drafting, engineering documentation, telecommunications design support, or a related discipline.

  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD, Visio, MicroStation, or comparable CAD drafting and technical design software.

  • Experience creating, updating, and maintaining technical drawings and as-built documentation.

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, technical specifications, drafting standards, and industry best practices.

  • Experience reviewing, validating, and revising engineering drawings and technical documentation.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing drawings and associated documentation.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Architecture, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Microsoft certification supporting Windows 10, Windows 11, Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administration, or related technologies.

  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

  • Experience supporting network infrastructure, telecommunications, engineering, or facilities projects.

  • Experience utilizing GIS applications, GPS data collection tools, and geospatial mapping systems.

  • Experience supporting mission-critical systems and high-visibility customers.

  • Experience providing quality service and support for mission-critical systems and VIP end users.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.
