Full job description
Company Description Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods. We build, power, and evolve the tools and technologies that connect millions of entrepreneurs with millions of buyers around the world. As an Etsy employee, you will tackle unique, meaningful, and large-scale problems alongside passionate coworkers, all the while making a rewarding impact and Keeping Commerce Human.
We believe exceptional companies are built by exceptional teams, and we're intentional about it. That means hiring great people, setting them up for success from day one, and giving them real reasons to grow their careers here. We invest in development that goes beyond promotions, and we foster the trust and relationships that help people do their best work together.
What's the role?
We are seeking a Community Programs Manager to join the Workplace Experience team, supporting our Employee Resource Group (ERG) program. This is a hands-on role with meaningful influence, responsible for building a consistent, well-supported ERG program. You will create the operating structure, tools, and partnerships that enable ERG leaders and communities to do their best work, while using feedback and sound judgment to strengthen how Etsy supports belonging, community, and employee participation over time.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Community & Belonging, you will be the day-to-day program owner for the ERG experience: supporting ERG leaders, coordinating key program moments, strengthening ways of working, and connecting ERGs to partners across People, Talent, Advocacy, Sustainability & Impact, and Workplace.
What this team does at Etsy The Workplace Experience team creates the programs, services, and everyday moments that help employees connect; to one another, to Etsy’s culture, and to the office as a place to do great work. Our team includes Community & Belonging, food, office operations, onsites, and onboarding. We sit within the broader Workplace team, which shapes how Etsy employees experience work through safe, purposeful spaces; reliable operations; and meaningful opportunities to gather, learn, and participate.
What the day-to-day looks like
-
Own the day-to-day operating rhythm of Etsy’s ERG program, ensuring ERG leaders have clear expectations, tools, resources, and support.
-
Coordinate the ERG lead application, selection, onboarding, training, and transition process.
-
Partner with ERG leads to translate priorities into clear plans, milestones, and follow-through.
-
Build and maintain the program infrastructure that makes ERGs easier to lead: playbooks, calendars, trackers, templates, budget processes, and communication channels.
-
Support the delivery of high-quality ERG programming and key moments, helping leaders navigate planning, partnerships, and escalation when needed.
-
Create stronger connections across ERGs so leaders can share ideas, learn from one another, and avoid reinventing the wheel.
-
Gather feedback from ERG leaders and members, identify patterns and opportunities, and bring a clear point of view on where the program should evolve.
-
Maintain a reliable view of program activity, decisions, risks, and progress for Workplace and cross-functional partners.
-
Support the design, delivery, and ongoing improvement of other Community & Belonging programs as priorities evolve, beyond the ERG program.
Qualities that will help you thrive in this role
-
3–5 years of experience in program management, employee community, DEI, HR, or a related field
-
Experience supporting ERGs, employee-led communities, or other programs where trust, care, and strong operating discipline are equally important
-
Strong program-management instincts: you can turn ambiguity into clear plans, build useful systems, and keep multiple workstreams moving
-
High emotional intelligence and sound judgment; you are comfortable navigating conversations involving identity, belonging, and difficult topics with care and discretion
-
A collaborative, service-oriented approach that supports employee leaders without taking ownership away from them
-
Strong written communication and the ability to create clarity for a distributed, global audience.
-
Comfortable working in a changing environment, identifying what needs to improve, and helping others adopt a better way of working
-
Willingness to provide occasional travel and hands-on support for in-person events, including physical setup as needed
