Full job description

About Brighterway Brighterway builds AI-native claims software and administration for casualty claims. We started in workers' compensation medical-legal review, where our agentic document pipeline sorts, de-duplicates and summarizes some of the most document-heavy files in the industry for national medical-evaluation networks. We are now building the claims platform on top of that foundation: intake across mail, fax, phone and email, bill review, subrogation, reserving signals, a workflow language, and state and federal reporting. We are backed by Y Combinator and Maverick Ventures. Our customers handle protected health information every day, so we run HIPAA, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 programs. The team is small and technical and sits close to customers. Everyone ships, and everyone talks to the people who use what they ship. The role Our customers are carriers, administrators and self-insured employers. They think in exposure, frequency, severity and total cost of risk. You will be the person on our team who speaks that language fluently, designs the analytics and risk-control services we offer, and makes sure the signals our AI surfaces are the ones that actually move a program's results. What you will do

  • Define the risk signals, benchmarks and reporting that Brighterway delivers to claims and risk leadership.

  • Work with customers' risk and safety teams on loss analysis, trend identification and program design.

  • Help design subrogation, fraud and litigation-avoidance workflows with the product team.

  • Support RFP responses and customer reviews with risk analytics and program recommendations.

  • Monitor Brighterway's own operational and compliance risk as a company handling PHI.

What we look for

  • 5+ years in risk management, loss control, actuarial support or claims analytics in property and casualty or workers' compensation.

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with spreadsheets, SQL or BI tools.

  • Ability to explain risk concepts to engineers and to present to executives.

Nice to have

  • ARM, CPCU or similar designation.

  • Experience with self-insured programs or captives.

How we work

  • Small team, high trust, direct access to founders and customers.

  • We ship to production weekly and measure ourselves on customer outcomes.

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity. Health, dental and vision coverage. Flexible time off.
