Job Function Engineer

Our client, a leading manufacturer of disposable food packaging products, is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to joint their team in Leola, PA.

Summary

Senir level engineer applying engineering knowledge and skills for large, complex, long duration manufacturing engineering projects focused on developing, measuring, analyzing, and implementing plans and procedures which ensure reliability of manufacturing components, equipment, and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.

  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards

  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

  • Manage and prioritize projects or programs of large size, scope, and duration

  • Lead and coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or or drafters

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and standardize a life cycle asset management process for components, equipment, and processes at all facilities

  • Analyze relevant data, lead a cross-functional review team and facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance studies in order to develop Maintenance Strategies for the selected systems.

  • Apply appropriate failure mode and effects analysis and risk analysis techniques to develop the most cost-effective maintenance strategies for all system components.

  • Monitor performance of all equipment systems to determine the effectiveness of the Maintenance Strategies. Upgrade preventive, predictive programs as indicated by performance data

  • Investigate root-cause for repetitive damage and failure rates, investigate costs that do not meet or follow the maintenance plans, and provide resolutions

  • Lead change in equipment risk management and reliability processes

  • Review and analyze engineering designs, and propose design modifications to achieve reliability and efficiency

  • Evaluate, recommend, and acquire tools for use, including process analysis software, and other physical tools and resources specific to reliability and maintenance improvement

  • Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products

  • Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions

  • Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved

  • Lead teams by skillfully managing group discussion, problem solving, and decision making

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and six (6) years of related engineering experience

  • Proven experience and success in applying Preventative Maintenance programs (PM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program

  • Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products

  • Advanced knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products

  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments

  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues

  • Certification in 6-Sigma Black Belt or Lean Master in manufacturing, preferred

  • Experience in plastics extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, paper printing and/or paper converting processes, preferred

  • Maintenance Reliability Professional Certification (CMRP), preferred

  • Certifications in Predictive Maintenance Technologies, preferred

  • Experience using Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements

  • Work is split between an office environment, production facility, and/or warehouse depending on the project

  • Exposure to extreme heat, loud noise, dirt, dust, odors, and fumes is probable

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areas

  • Up to 30% domestic and international travel

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport

  • Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
