Full job description

About Topline Pro We’re building AI-powered Shopify for service professionals. We empower service pros (e.g., roofers, landscapers, painters, cleaners) to acquire direct business, fast. Up and running within minutes using Gen AI, our digital storefront products help pros get discovered, trusted, and booked repeatedly. Topline Pro is co-founded by Nick Ornitz (CEO) and Shannon Kay (CPO) with an excellent team of 40+ with plans to expand more in 2024/2025. We serve thousands of local service businesses and were named as one of the Top 50 Tech Companies building for SMBs in both 2023 and 2024. We're backed by leading investors including Y Combinator and Forerunner Ventures (Series A 2023) with multiple years of runway, and we’ve experienced rapid growth in the past year. About our Customer Home service business owners have historically paid thousands for services that now can be delivered faster and at a fraction of the cost through Topline Pro. Topline Pro has generated over $200 million in business for our customers across thousands of businesses in nearly all 50 states. Our favorite stories are those of Jered, a landscaper in Daytona Beach, FL, who grew his business from $70k to over $4.5M , and Lauren, a painter in Adrian, MI, who started and grew her business to nearly $1M. Both in about a year of working with Topline Pro. Our customers tend to be in the field and on the move, which drives our ardent focus on simple and intuitive yet powerful mobile web app design today, and in the future, native mobile app design. We've found innovative ways to meet our customers where they are both inside and outside our application. About the Role We’re hiring our second product designer, which provides an opportunity to take on significant ownership in building a product that can meaningfully change the lives of home service pros. You will also have the opportunity to make a huge impact on a small yet growing team and culture. Our Product organization currently operates in three pods. In this role, you will be the dedicated designer for one of those pods, reporting directly to our Founder and CPO, and you will also work closely with our first Sr. Product Designer and VP of Engineering. ⚡ What you'll do

  • Collaborate in day-to-day Discovery with the PM and engineer in your Product trio to determine what to build to best drive the goals defined by our quarterly OKRs
  • Collaborate with your Pod to refine and build the initiatives picked up from Discovery, including participating in agile sprint ceremonies and testing UI tickets
  • Plan, conduct, and interpret user research and competitor analysis
  • Create prototypes and wireframes to drive design discussions and usability testing
  • Conduct qualitative (e.g., usability testing) and quantitative research (e.g., surveys) both externally (e.g., customers, prospective customers) and internally (e.g., key stakeholders) during product discovery and after the release of new features
  • Lead design from initial opportunity definition through implementation and continue iteration after release

🎯 What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer for responsive web application design, ideally for SMBs

  • Expert knowledge of Figma

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Skilled in problem-solving with the ability to balance several complex challenges simultaneously

  • Experience working in an empowered, cross-functional product pod, ideally within Series A to Series C stages

  • Team player

  • Natural passion for learning

  • Self-starter who finds comfort in ambiguity Not a perfect match?

  • We care deeply about a culture that is inclusive and equitable for people of all backgrounds and experiences. We particularly encourage people from communities that tend to be underrepresented to apply, including but not limited to women, people of color, and people who identify as LGBTQ+.

  • We believe in hiring people not just skills. Even if you do not check every box, please apply if you are excited about working with us and think you can excel in the job.

🙌 What we offer

  • Competitive cash compensation and equity package
  • Unlimited vacation, 7 company holidays including election day, and 1 personal volunteer day a year
  • Medical/dental/vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan
  • Fun-filled team that doesn’t take themselves too seriously, including virtual cameos from the team dog mascots Caro and Alta
