The Engineering Development Group (EDG) is a technical and leadership development program for early career individuals at MathWorks that builds strong leaders and innovators in the organization. The Software Engineers in Test with in the EDG program have the flexibility to identify and explore areas of interest within Q uality E ngineering at MathWorks . W hile contributing to challenging work in a fun and collaborative environment , y ou will gain experience with MathWorks products and user workflows through direct interactions with customers.

EDG - Software Engineer in Test team member s receive extensive training, mentoring, and coaching that enables them to transition into teams within the Quality Engineering department aligned with their skills et , interest s and MathWorks business needs .

Responsibilities

More specifically, you will:

  • Contribute to high-impact technical projects with teams in the Quality Engineering d epartment that match your background and professional interests.

  • Build a range of Software Engineering in Test skills, including automated testing, designing and developing test strategies, procedures, and testing frameworks .

  • Gain an understanding of customer workflows and deep product knowledge by solving complex technical issues for our customers. Work directly with top engineers and scientists that are making an impact with our tools in the world.

  • Develop leadership skills through opportunities to initiate and lead process improvements, and coach and mentor others. Benefit from extensive learning opportunities through training, mentorship , and knowledge sharing forums.

  • Transition to a team within the Quality Engineering department to build a successful career and help develop the highest quality software for MathWorks customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required.

  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.

  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Additional Qualifications

  • B.S. in C omputer S cience with a strong academic record

  • Experience or interest in software testing and building testing frameworks

  • Familiarity in system design using object-oriented principles

  • Programming skills in languages such as C++, JavaScript, Golang, and/or MATLAB

  • Strong problem-solving, time management, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Curiosity, learning agility, and a willingness to explore new engineering tools and technologies, including AI-assisted workflows

  • Experience with MathWorks products such as MATLAB and Simulink is a plus, but not required

  • Experience with Compilers, Web technologies, or Cloud Computing is a plus
